Three Los Angeles -area residents were recently convicted in an unusual insurance fraud scheme using a person in a bear costume to fake attacks on high-end vehicles to collect insurance payouts.

Three people were sentenced this week in an insurance fraud scam that saw them wear a bear costume while damaging luxury cars in California.

Alfiya Zuckerman, 39, of Valley Village, and Ruben Tamrazian, 26, of Glendale, both pleaded no contest to felony insurance fraud for destroying insured property.
